FYI - I had lunch w/ Martin there about 2-3 mos ago re: his musicophilia and my take on how we could use neurobiological techniques (e.g., ERPs, single-neuron recordings in auditory cortex) to empirically test mathematically-based hypotheses about music evolution in the Western idiom...

• If you'd like to see the Newborn Intensive Care Unit - or the microelectrode laboratory -

they're at Mass General, across the street from my Beacon Hill/Institute office, about 20 mins straight down Cambridge St across the Longfellow Bridge into Boston.  That's the office address I gave Helen: 175 Cambridge St, 3rd floor, Suite 340.
