Like, the only reason to develop your own tools without homebrew crypto is e=ther because you're so paranoid about Americans that you think everything i= backdoored (read: you're dumb) or it's "deception".. In the sense that you release the tools as a decoy and possibly as a malware=tool to infect people who want to look into sources&methods of your organiz=tion. At the end of the day, the best thing you can do is to adopt the tools every=ne else uses and that are realistically not backdoored (eg: red phone) so y=u blend with the crowd. Am I missing anything? OT: google for "achmed the dead terrorist" if you've never seen it - kind of=unrelated but it cracks me up every time Sent from my (phone > On 04/ago/2014, at 15:54, Joi Ito <-> wrote: > https://www.recordedfuture.com/al-qaeda-encryption-technology-part-2/ <?xml version=.0" encoding=TF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version=.0"> <dict> <key>conversation-id</key> <integer>298268</integer> <key>date-last-viewed</key> <integer>0</integer> <key>date-received</key> <integer>1407183705</integer> <key>flags</key> <integer>8590195713</integer> <key>gmail-label-ids</key> <array> <integer>2</integer> </array> <key>remote-id</key> <string>429677</string> </dict> </plist> EFTA_R1_01766806 EFTA02586594
