Subject: Human in the loop/unthinkable thoughts Today I was reading this: https://=ww.dartmouth.eduhmatc/MathDrama/reading/Hamming.html (The unreasonabl= effectiveness of mathematics) Which is worth reading, but regardles= this made me think about the following: we are looking at Al as a way to d= "better" what we know how to do. <=div> But hamming says something interes=ing in the essay, which is: "Just=as there are odors that dog can smell and we cannot, as well as sounds that=dogs can hear and we cannot Why then, given our brains wired the way=they are, does the remark "Perhaps there are thoughts we cannot think", sur=rise you?" So one way of potentially thinking about Al is to a=d humans in thinking unthinkable thoughts. This sounds a lot less scary the= "Al will replace humans" and it is consistent both with Joi's human in the=loop and with what Jeffrey was saying last time I saw him "I don't want Al t= give me the answers, I want Al to give me the questions" =div id="AppleMailSignature">Anyway, just a thought :) Sent from my (phone 1 EFTA_R1_01563954 EFTA02459176
