To: Jeffrey Epsteinhe Cc: Lawrence Krauss[ illiS Fran: Lawrence Krauss Sent Fri 3/5/2010 12:17:02 AM Subject ideas Nice to talk yesterday Jeffrey. Thanks.. I am starting the wheels moving on a possible meeting with Michael Crow in April to talk about possibilities. On the other matter, I was thinking of ideas. The writing option is interesting, but from a logistical perspective it presents the following issuc: writing a GOOD 150-200 page document (assumcing S 150K ish before taxes) is the equivalent of writing a new book.. which can be done of course, but in my experience takes about a year (if I am to continue my research activities etc), and is time consuming. Another alternative, which is useful (in general), but may not be attractive to you, but which equally uses those outreach skills with much less work, is to consider sponsoring a series of public lectures by me on a variety of subjects.. I have 5-7 different public lectures now, and could consider others.. , and they could be in florida, NY, or anywhere.. If the foundation paid me $25K per lecture, which is slightly higher than my previous max (SISK), then 6 public lectures would be $150K.. and it would be interesting, useful, and much less work for me than writing a comprehensible explanation of various research programs (I was planning a book ultimately on our Origins programs). So, the question is, would this be of interest to you? Lawrence Lawrence M.
