Rachel intends to receive a degree in Communication (PR, Media, TV). Although she really wants to go to the University of Michigan, she recognizes that the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse is ranked as one of the top schools in the country for her field of study and summer internships as she looks towards working after graduation. Newhouse has an awesome undergraduate Communications program, so academically she is most likely" better off at Syracuse and will have to overlook the fact that Syracuse as a town is absolutely horrible and that the average kid at Syracuse is likely to be less competent (stimulating) than that of Michigan. The admissions requirements (GPA, ACT, SAT) for Syracuse is measurably lower than that of Michigan, yet somewhat similar when comparing Newhouse to Michigan. (I believe similar to looking at The Kelley School business at Indiana vs simply Indiana). I am wondering if at this point we are fighting for something that we shouldn't be fighting for? I know that you are not a College Advisor, but your thoughts, guidance and opinion would very much be appreciated. Thank you. Eric EFTA_R1_00375968 EFTA01927988 ERIC H.
