The best way round this is to explain to her that this is the least painless way for her to deal with a situation she has created, in that she won't have to eat humble pie herself by issuing a press statement, but instead can allow the letter to be used at our discretion. I suspect that this will be the best prospect of securing her co-operation, although obviously it would be preferable if she were to release the press statement directly herself. Regards.
