From: Lawrence Krauss .5 To: J <jeevacation@gmail.corn> Cc: Justin Dillon < >, Lawrence Krauss. Subject: Urgent Fwd: letter from the President.. urgent response needed Date: The, 09 Oct 2018 18:10:19 +0000 Attachments: Kraussjawrence_100918_Conciliation_Committee_Letter.pdf; Conciliation Committee_Report.pdf I received this email from the President today (a day after I asked for a copy of this.. see below). I believe I need to respond to this today. It gives me only one day to negotiate a settlement with the Dean about terms that require negotiation with the President and Provost. The letter was sent only after the Dean had already phoned me, presumably under instructions from the President and Provost, without anyone informing me of the conciliation committee recommendations. I need to say in my response that, having received this today, one day is not sufficient to negotiate an agreement, especially given that the terms of the agreement apparently are beyond the purview of the dean alone. Anyway, guidance please re response to this letter? I am sending you both my proposed conciliation agreement later today. LMK Lawrence M. The Committee reports that after due diligence regarding the matter, the Committee believes that there may be the possibility of conciliation between the parties. Accordingly, I am extending to you the opportunity to directly discuss with each other whether there are terms that can be agreed to. Please advise my office by close of business Wednesday, October 10, 2018 whether an agreement has been reached or not. In the absence of a conciliated agreement, this matter will move forward with the dismissal process as provided under Arizona Board of Regents policy 6-201. Should that be necessary, it will be addressed through separate correspondence. Michael EFTA01020366 Michael M. Crow President Arizona State University Begin forwarded message: From: Lawrence Krauss Subject: Conciliation Committee Report Date: October 8, 2018 at 9:57:39 AM PDT To: Eric Kostelich , Michael Crow Cc: Lawrence Krauss Hi. My understanding is that the Conciliation committee sent its report in on Wednesday of last week indicating they felt conciliation was possible, and described the requirements of both parties. I was told that the next step would be negotiations with the Provost, but in any case, the Dean called me today briefly about this relating what I think was some guidance from the Provost, and I will be speaking to him again later this week.. Would it be possible to get a copy of the committee's report today so that I can better understand the current state of conciliation proceedings? Thanks. Lawrence Lawrence M.
